The Ghosts of the Tudors
Stratford-upon-Avon is well known for being the home of the English Poet & Playwright,
William Shakespeare, he was baptised 26th April 1564 &died 23rd April 1616. He is
fondly referred to as England’s national poet & “Bard of Avon”. ghosts
Stratford-upon-Avon
is one of the most important tourist destinations in the UK, many visitors flock in their thousands in search
of culture, history & in particular Shakespeare’s birthplace. On their quest some people make their way
along “Sheep Street” & stumble upon one of the market towns hidden gems. A wattle-and-daub medieval
house, which is one of the oldest lived-in houses in the Stratford area, a 500 year old building known as
“Shrieves House” named after William Shrieve who was archer to King Henry VIII. It is now home to the “The
Falstaff Experience” a Tudor museum which offers a unique educational journey through Tudor England’s way of
life for the young and old alike.
There is a twist however to this
charming little gem of Stratford, not only is it one of the oldest buildings in Stratford, but it is well known
for being one of the most haunted, attracting famous names such as “Most Haunted” medium Derek Acorah,
& Ian Lawman of “Living with the Dead”.
Many ghosts
are said to haunt the museum, dark hooded figures have been reported by some, and ghostly figures gliding
along the floor have been witnessed by others. Some anxious visitors have reported the sound of footsteps
behind them as they walk through the museum, and some people have even said they have been touched by unseen
hands. Also some members of staff have reported that they have lost personal belongings, only to be found
some weeks later in another location of the building.
We know of
some of the spirits that haunt “The Falstaff Experience”; however we do not want to tell you too much
information, why don’t you come and find out for yourself... Book online today and join in “The Ghost of the
Tudors” for a great night of ghost hunting...
