The Galleries of Justice, Nottingham with Ian Lawman

Be prepared for an adventure of epic proportions into the
unknown world of the Paranormal! Ian Lawman and John Blackburn from
Mysteria Paranormal Events take you ghost hunting the most haunted location in the UK... The Galleries
of Justice, Nottingham!
If you walk
along High Pavement in Nottingham you will notice a large intimidating building called “Shire Hall”, fondly
know as “The Galleries of Justice museum” which features a number of interactive exhibitions & tours that
reflect the buildings historical past, it gives you a gruesome insight into Nottingham’s legal system &
the appalling conditions that the prisoners were forced to endure.
The first
written records show the site being used as a court of law dating back to 1375 & the first written
reference to the building being used as a prison was in 1449.
When you approach the front entrance to the building you will be confronted by colossal wooden
doors & as you look down to walk up the stone steps you will notice square patches. It is
believed that these patches were once holes that supported the gallows structure when it was erected for public
hangings. Unruly crowds would gather on the
occasion of a public hanging to
watch the horrific scene, their advances halted by iron palisade.
The
jail had the reputation of being one of the most evil jails in the country, due to
the appalling conditions the
Victorians closed the jail, it lay empty between 1878 and 1995; however, the Hall continued in use as Nottingham's
civil and criminal courts until 1991.
With such a dark past it is no wonder that “The Galleries of Justice
museum”
claims to be one of the most haunted locations in Great Britain.
If you are brave enough to join us on this occasion ghost hunting you will be given access to the
criminal courtroom where poltergeist activity is often reported.
Access to some of the most haunted cells & areas of the jail that worry even the some of the
courageous of souls.
If that’s not enough, you will be taken down into the famous caves which are without doubt the most
haunted part of the building. It is believed by some that the caves were used to lock away the slowly dying
lepers; others strongly believe it was also used for occult activity.
So...... are you brave enough?
