Ghost Hunting Tips for the New Starter
If you are reading this article you are obviously interested in the subject & would like to find out
more about ghost hunting.
If you have never been on a ghost hunt before it is advisable to contact a group or ghost hunting company
who organise public events.
Ghost hunting groups
Ghost hunting groups are a good starting point; however some groups in my experience can appear to be a little
reserved and it may take a little while before you will be accepted on one of their investigations. There are a
number of reasons for this which I’m sure you will appreciate.
Allowing someone on one of your investigations automatically holds you responsible for their conduct. Many
of the locations the group’s visit are of an historical nature & the last thing they want is someone on one of
their events who have little or no regard for the property.
It’s a privilege for paranormal groups to investigate properties of such nature & we all have a
responsibility to ensure that the paranormal community do not get a bad name for the actions of a few inadequately
chosen individuals.
What you need to do is to register on a group’s forum & get yourself known to the group by joining in
with the teams open forum. It may take a little while before they accept & invited you on one of their events,
but I’m sure you will agree that it is worth the patience & effort.

Ghost hunting companies
A reputable company is ideal. It is in their interest only to employ professional paranormal investigators
& mediums, who will ensure that the event is run professionally & have the knowledge to make your
experience an enjoyable one. Companies have access to many great locations with paranormal history, however
activity cannot be guaranteed on your first event; therefore you have got to be prepared to be patient & just
enjoy the experience.
If you are into the equipment side of ghost hunting both paranormal groups & companies use similar
types of equipment, EMF detectors (Electrometric field detectors), laser Thermometer’s etc, however in my opinion
you can’t beat your own human senses which over time will become more acute.
Safety First...
Whether you chose a paranormal group or company always make sure you are safe. Always take a good torch,
sensible footwear & clothing, many locations can be cold & it’s important that you keep yourself warm. It
is good practise to carry your own first aid kit, however if you are going with a paranormal company they should
have one to hand.
Never wonder off on your own, always keep with the group. There is no point in wondering off on
your own, spirit activity is more likely to occur when you are with a group due to the collective energy level of
the group.
Paranormal companies are very health & safety conscious & will ensure that you are safe at all
times. Routine checks are adhered to before you attend the event to avoid any hazards that could result in slips,
trips & falls. A risk assessment will always be done by the company or by the location you are
visiting.
After you have considered all of the above have a great time.
