Extreme ghost hunting at Margam Castle with Ian Lawman

Built in 19^th century during the Gothic revival Margam Castle is a magnificent example of a Tudor Gothic style mansion of that period, it is situated in the town of Port Talbot, Wales. Taking ten years to build from 1830 to 1840 it was commissioned by Christopher Rice Mansel Talbot who was a wealthy South Wales landowner and industrialist. The mansion continued to be used by the family until 1941, when it was sold to David Evans-Bevan, he found it too large to live in and could not find any interested parties or public organizations to take it on. Unfortunately over a period of time the building fell into disrepair. Eventually Margan Castle was taken on by the local authorities and was only opened to the public in 1977.  It is believed that Margan Castle was built on the site of an ancient Iron age settlement & like many haunted locations spectral entities are not always connected to the building itself.   

During the day Margan Castle displays its amazing architectural presence to the general public. At night-time however the building takes on a different persona. The dark embrace heightens the senses & from dark corners the afterlife comes forward to inquisitively examine their new found entertainment.  

There are many spirits that are frequently seen at Margan Castle, one is said to a gamekeeper who worked at the mansion for many years and it is believed that he was murdered by a poacher.  His tormented sprit has been seen on many occasions wondering the grounds. 

Within the mansion itself there have been reports of a variety of spirits from dark hooded figures to mischievous children who make their presence known by running down the corridors & moving objects. Other phenomena include poltergeist activity of various forms from stone throwing to slamming doors.
